Amentum seeks an Elevator Mechanic to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will maintain and repair elevator systems, ensuring safe operation, regulatory compliance, and continuous service for Embassy infrastructure.

The role requires technical expertise, vigilance in safety practices, and adaptability to a remote overseas assignment. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical components, and documentation per quality standards.

Formación

• Must read, speak and understand English to perform contract requirements.
• Passport valid for at least one year at hire.
• Ability to obtain country-specific visas per guidance.
• Must pass contract medical requirements and deployment health standards.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Journeyman certificate or equivalent field experience preferred.
• Experience with reading sketches, drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of European and/or US electrical codes and safety practices.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain and repair elevator mechanical systems to ensure proper operation and certification.
• Locate and diagnose trouble in brakes, motors, switches, and control systems using test equipment.
• Disassemble, repair or replace defective parts such as gears, cables, safety devices, and bearings.
• Perform preventative maintenance per schedules and warranties, and suggest improvements.
• Work from blueprints and specifications to locate trouble and plan repairs.
• Adhere to safety, environmental, and quality requirements; report hazards to supervisors.
