Formación

Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Electronics Technician to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia.
The Electronics Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with applicable standards and regulations. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Installing, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic and electrical equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

Performing tests, inspections, and diagnostics on electrical and electronic systems to identify and resolve technical issues.

Ensuring compliance with NAVFAC MO-200 standards, including training and certification requirements for personnel working with or on electrical or electronic equipment.

Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to perform system repairs and modifications.

Ensuring all work complies with safety regulations, operational requirements, and electrical codes.

Coordinating with supervisors and other team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance and repairs.

Participating in ongoing training to maintain certifications and stay current with technological advancements and NAVFAC standards.

Required Qualifications

Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.

  • Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
  • Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment.

Certification and training in working with electrical or electronic equipment, as required by NAVFAC MO-200 standards.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, wiring schematics, and electronic manuals.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.

Completion of formal training or apprenticeship programs with a focus on electronics or electrical systems.

Experience with NAVFAC standards and electrical/electronic equipment maintenance in a military or industrial setting.

Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce is preferred.

Valid country driver’s license and passport.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in an operational environment.

Working Environment

This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Physical Requirements

Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to met all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
