AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern to join our Madrid overhead line equipment (OLE) team. You will assist in OLE design tasks, contribute to drawings, reports, BoQs and other deliverables, and collaborate on engineering work in a global infrastructure firm.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, have knowledge of railway electrification, CAD, and basic scripting (VBA/LISP), and are fluent in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Knowledge of railway electrification systems is a plus.
• Proficient in CAD; VBA or LISP coding is beneficial.
• English language at professional level.
• No prior internship experience required.

Job Description

We are looking for an Engineering Intern to join our successful overhead line equipment team in Madrid.

As part of the OLE team, the new member will be involved in tasks related to the OLE design, such as the production of drawings, reports, BoQs and other deliverables.

• Develop OLE layout designs


• Create load calculations for OLE structures


• Conduct basic and detailed design of OLE structures, developing cross-sections


• Collaborate on all engineering deliverables


• Develop design foundations for OLE elements


• Calculate electrical and mechanical clearance envelopes


• Create isolation diagrams and isolation instructions.

Qualifications

Requirements :

• Railway electrification knowledge/experience working with AC and DC electrification systems


• Previous experience/knowledge of other railway systems like signalling, traction power...


• High-speed rail lines and conventional lines knowledge


• CAD capabilities


• VBA and/or LISP coding knowledge.


• No experience required.


• English language, full professional competency
