Amazon is seeking an Operations Engineering Intern in Spain for a 6-month full-time program starting in Q3 2027. You will work across teams to design, build, and improve fulfilment infrastructure within Amazon's large-scale supply chain network.

Responsibilities include automation projects, data visualization, and hands-on support on the warehouse floor. Ideal candidates are in their final or penultimate year of an engineering or STEM degree, excel at advanced Excel, and communicate in English

• Support monitoring MHE metrics and data visualization for internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to training programs to raise site knowledge in controls fault finding.

Key Job Responsibilities

• As an Operations Engineer Intern, you could have the opportunity to join one of the following teams: Project Management, Change Management, People Management, Planning, Contracting Management, Infrastructure, Reliability Maintenance Engineering and more. You will work on a project with real impact within Amazon. This could include: Design, build, improve, and innovate order fulfilment infrastructure throughout the large-scale supply chain network.
• Manage, design, and implement small to medium scope integrated automation projects with system elements such as high-speed sortation, multiple conveyors, package lines, and/or robotic work cells.
• Develop alongside global teams to support the planning, installation and commission of new equipment, including project managing implementation of new processes.
• Support within the EU Controls network on a project to enhance the capability to monitor MHE metrics and provide visualization and data to internal customers.
• Working on a program to train technicians in the basics of control systems fault finding to raise the level of knowledge within the site.

A Day in the Life

Every day is different as an Operations Engineer Intern. You'll work alongside experienced engineers on real projects that design, build, and improve fulfilment infrastructure across Amazon's large-scale supply chain network. You might spend your morning analysing MHE performance data and developing visualisations to help teams monitor equipment metrics, then spend your afternoon on the warehouse floor supporting the installation and commissioning of new automation equipment. You will collaborate with global teams, interface with stakeholders at all levels, and drive solutions with real operational impact.

Amazon's fulfilment network relies on cutting-edge technology — from robotics and high-speed sortation to conveyance systems and robotic work cells. No matter which team you join, whether it's Project Management, Reliability Maintenance Engineering, Controls, or Infrastructure, part of your role will involve solving complex engineering challenges. You'll design and implement improvements, support process innovation, and contribute to programmes that build technical capability across sites — developing your engineering, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills in a dynamic, international environment.

Internship Start Dates across the year

We are hiring interns to start in Q3 2027 with six months availability.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently in your final or penultimate year and working towards a university bachelors’ or masters’ degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Automation, Industrial or Software), or a STEM subject.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
• Speak, write, and read fluently in English at C1 level or above
• Available for a full-time internship (40 hours/week) with Q3 start date and commit 6 month internship

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred qualifications are not required to apply for a position at Amazon. If you have all the basic qualifications above, we’d love to hear from you.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)
• Understanding of ISO 13849 & 62061
