Job summary

BD, a leading global medical technology company, is seeking an Operational Excellence Engineer for the ESP Huesca - Fraga site. You will drive continuous improvement, support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, and help optimize quality, delivery and cost while improving safety.

Working with the Plant OPEX Manager, you will lead problem solving, develop CI projects across SQDC, and coach teams in BD Excellence methodologies to sustain multi-year cost to win gains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma;Green/Black belt preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels.
• Proven track record in project or program management.
• Fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key member of the Focused Improvement component team.
• Develop and grow problem-solving capability at all levels.
• Support CI projects across SQDC: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost.
• Coordinate activity of improvement teams to eliminate losses.
• Lead and support Cost to Win (CtW) initiatives and track progress.
• Coach BD Excellence concepts and facilitate Kaizen events.
• Support development of zero-loss approaches in critical areas.
• Ensure KPIs are cascaded and monitored across components.
• Utilize data-driven visual-management to drive KPI improvements (e.g., OEE).

About the role

This position represents a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated, highly motivated, and positive individual to become a proactive member of BD’s global Operational Excellence (Operational Excellence) community.

Working with the Plant OPEX Manager, Operational Excellence Engineer will be passionate about creating a culture of operational and customer excellence, implementing change, and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) across the network through BD Excellence.

This strong operational excellence and continuous improvement identity will be created through the systematic application of BD Excellence, methodologies, and associated tools, to ensure sustainable optimization of performance in the areas of quality, delivery, and cost, whilst improving safety.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Active member of Focused Improvement component team.
• Develop and grow problem solving capability at all levels.
• Support implementation of CI (Continuous Improvement) projects across all dimensions SQDC (Safety Quality Delivery Cost).
• Help coordinate activity of component teams and focused improvement project teams to eliminate loss, according to strategic goals.
• Help generate, sustain, and deliver a multi-year Cost to Win (CTW) portfolio, support governance processes, and optimization of the site loss landscape. Help meet or exceed CtW (Cost to Win) goals through leading and /or supporting Focused Improvement team savings projects (Loss Landscape).
• Teach and coach BD Excellence (Operational Excellence) concepts and systematic approach, including strategy deployment, core components, Zero Loss approach and all related methodologies / tools. Lead and facilitate breakthrough Kaizen events and support other BD Excellence components in problem solving capability development.
• Support development of zero loss approach across critical areas to optimize quality, delivery and cost while improving safety.
• Help develop and grow capability through components and component teams to establish the fundamentals of excellence in safety, quality, and reliability. Coach and guide project selection process to ensure focus of resources and time on priorities.
• Ensure strategic alignment through cascading Key Performance Indicators (KPIs’) top down and bottom up. Support BD Excellence deployment and governance process across all relevant components.
• Drive BD Excellence capability development through deployment of progressively advanced aspects of component methodologies. Support attainment of long-term CI objectives through multi-functional teams with shared goal.
• Drive use of effective data-driven visual-management techniques, e.g., Business-Operating-System (BOS) charts to drive improvement of KPIs such as OEE (Overall Equipment Efectiveness), waste, labour productivity, etc. Active role in governance and action tracking of improvements, with periodic reporting of activity completion dates, expected and achieved results.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or equivalent
• Previous experience in implementing, and strong knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma business systems. Six sigma green or black belt certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience in a plant
• Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills with people at all levels
• Track record in project or program management
• Language: Fluent English.

Salary range of this role: EUR 37,700 - EUR 42,000 + benefits.

Salary Range Information

€37,700.00 - €60,350.00 EUR Annual
