AECOM is recruiting an OLE/OCS Engineer based in Madrid with a focus on basic design, tramway and high-speed rail design. The role offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement combining in-office and remote schedules.

The candidate will participate in OLE/OCS design activities for international railway projects within the Railway Systems department, collaborating with a global team to deliver high-quality technical outputs and engage in interdisciplinary reviews.

Formación

  • 2-5 years of experience in OLE/OCS projects or related railway design
  • Proficiency in CAD tools - Microstation / AUTOCAD
  • Desirable: knowledge of structural assessment software and BIM environment
  • Ability to work remotely with offices in different countries
  • Must speak English fluently; additional languages are a plus
  • Proactive, highly collaborative attitude with strong interpersonal skills

Responsabilidades

  • Develop technical reports, drawings, layouts, structural design, and loading cases
  • Produce structural steelwork, wiring arrangements and bonding plans
  • Perform mechanical and geometric calculations for the OLE system
  • Work independently with new OLE design ranges
  • Develop technical specifications and establish interfaces with systems/disciplines/stakeholders
  • Attend interdisciplinary reviews and support quality control management

Job Description

We are currently recruiting anOLE/OCS Engineer with specific expertise in basic design, tramway and HSR design, to be based in the Madrid Enterprise Capabilities Offices. This position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, incorporating a combination of both in-office and remote working schedules.

The successful candidate will be involved in the OLE /OCS design activities for international railway projects.

OLE & Simulation is part of the Railway Systems department (a multidisciplinary team with over 50 people). Our office has an established track record of successfully delivering OLE & Simulations works for many years, throughout the UK, the USA, Australia, Canada and the Middle East, among others. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic transportation projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team for the Europe Enterprise Capabilities Centre (Poland/Spain).

As such, the candidate's responsibilities will include the following:

  • Development of technical reports, drawings, layouts, structural design, and loading cases
  • Produce structural steelwork, wiring arrangements and bonding plans
  • Being able to do mechanical and geometric calculations for the OLE system
  • Capable of working independently with new OLE design ranges
  • Development of technical specifications.
  • Establishing interfaces with systems/disciplines/stakeholders
  • Attending interdisciplinary reviews
  • Quality control management
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience
  • Previous experience in OLE/OCS projects (new electrification and renewals) along with an understanding of the railway industry.
  • Proficiency in the use of CAD tools - Microstation / AUTOCAD
  • It is desirable for the candidate to know structural assessment software and the BIM environment.
  • Being capable of working remotely with offices from different countries

Also valuable:

  • Previous experience in the UK or Australia
  • Electrical or Mechanical or Civil Engineering BEng or MEng degree.
  • Chartered Engineer in the US, Canada, UK or Australia
