Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal in Spain is hiring ambitious interns for a 6-month Off-Cycle program within the Financial & Operational Restructuring team in Madrid. You will support engagements for lenders and corporates, contribute to financial analyses, capital structure reviews and ad-hoc analyses using Excel and PowerPoint.

Eligible candidates are enrolled in a Master's or in the final year of an undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering, with fluent English and Spanish, strong analytical skills,

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master's or final year of undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong financial and analytical foundation: accounting fundamentals and corporate finance basics.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English and Spanish.
• Proactive, team-oriented attitude.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

• Financial analysis of target companies' performance (P&L, cash flow).
• Support in business plan reviews and capital structure analysis.
• Prepare ad-hoc analyses for turnaround processes.
• Produce client deliverables using advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
• Support pitches and commercial initiatives: research company financials and turn findings into pitch material.

In Spain, we operate from Madrid and Barcelona, advising lenders, private equity sponsors, corporates and financial institutions on complex financial and operational situations. We help them evaluate risks, opportunities and restructuring options.

The Spanish team is growing. We are hiring ambitious Interns for a 6-month Off-Cycle with potential roll-over to Analyst position

What you will do

Join the Spain Financial & Operational Restructuring team and provide support on client engagements for lenders (private credit funds and financial institutions) and corporates (PE-owned and independent).

Contribute directly to engagement workstreams:

• Financial analysis of target companies' performance (P&L, cash flow)
• Support in business plan reviews and capital structure analysis
• Prepare ad-hoc analysis for holistic turnaround processes
• Preparation and review of short-term cash flow and liquidity forecastsProduce client deliverables using advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
• Support the team on pitches and commercial initiatives: research company financials and business performance using available databases and turn the findings into pitch material.

What we are looking for

• Currently enrolled in a Master's or final year of an undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• Solid financial and analytical foundation: accounting fundamentals and corporate finance basics and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Strong sense of responsibility and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Fluent business English and Spanish (essential)
