Apple Inc. in Barcelona is seeking an ML engineer to join Global Siri and apply cutting‑edge AI to scale multilingual features across languages and devices.

You will design, train and evaluate models, develop data workflows for multilingual data, and ship production ML features with a collaborative, cross‑functional team.

The Global Product Experience team creates groundbreaking user experiences across Siri markets. The features we build are redefining how hundreds of millions of people across all Siri languages are connected to the information they are looking for and the apps they love to use through various devices. As part of this group, you will work in one of the most exciting environments with state-of-the‑art machine learning (ML) and AI models applied to production problems. We build machine learning (ML) technologies that scale to all Siri languages. You will have the opportunity to innovate with large‑scale AI models to help Siri better understand and converse in different languages.

Description

In Global Siri, we are responsible for the end‑to‑end user experience in all Siri markets. This means we build new features and scale them across Siri languages and devices. As an ML engineer in Global Siri, you will help us build and apply ML solutions to scale new features across different languages and modalities. You should be able to work with large scale systems, write high quality code, work effectively with agentic AI tools, and be comfortable in contributing to existing systems and developing new ones. A collaborative and communicative attitude is required to coordinate work across multiple teams.We're looking for a self‑starting, proactive individual with excellent written and communication skills, a hardworking person who is a great teammate, but not afraid to question assumptions and take initiative. Responsibilities

• Work on cutting‑edge technology at the intersection of agents, multilinguality and multimodality
• Understand how LLMs learn and transfer capabilities across languages and modalities
• Independently design and execute modeling experiments to validate training methodologies and model architectures
• Develop mechanisms to automate data creation and data filtering across different languages
• Devise automated approaches to evaluate and improve the performance of agents across multiple languages and modalities
• Build and ship ML based products at high quality for worldwide Apple customers

Minimum Qualifications

• Expertise in innovating with large‑scale AI models (text, speech, and/or vision), in‑depth knowledge of the latest advancements in the field and a deep understanding of LLM training, prompting, and fine‑tuning.
• Experience with multilingual data, machine translation and understanding of the complexities and tradeoffs involved when scaling to non‑English languages.
• Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch or JAX.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; happy to work in a team as well as independently; can take and give feedback; can iterate on a solution in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or related field.
• Experience with multilingual and multimodal LLMs.
• Experience with or strong interest in agents, tool‑use, planning and multi‑step reasoning.
• Experience shipping production grade ML or DL based applications.
• Optionally experience with building on‑device software and models.
