Present Connection in Spain is seeking a Mid Python Developer to join an AI-driven data backend project for ERP analytics. You will design and implement backend services, data pipelines and AI integrations in a collaborative R&D team.

Ideal candidates bring solid Python skills, API/backend experience, SQL/data modelling knowhow and hands-on work with LLMs or AI agents. We value initiative and the ability to own ideas from concept to production.

Mid Python Developer – Data & AI Backend (Spain)

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Python Developer to join an R&D team at the third-largest ERP provider for small and mid-sized manufacturing companies in the DACH region. The team is building an AI-based business intelligence and analytics platform, together with the data foundation underneath it.

The data foundation brings business data from ERP systems into a modern cloud data platform – a data lake on AWS, a semantic layer that describes business objects, processes and a business glossary, and a fast analytical database. AI agents on top of it answer business questions in plain language: show me this customer's open orders becomes the right data, fields and filters.

You will build the backend services, data pipelines and tooling behind this, and help connect the data to the AI agents and MCP servers that use it. This role is for someone who brings ideas, not just implements requirements – someone who explores ambiguous problems, develops their own concepts and proposes practical solutions, working AI-first.

What We Expect

• The ability to turn ideas into reliable backend solutions using AI coding agents: define implementation plans, guide execution, and critically review, test and improve the results, with enough Python proficiency to understand and take ownership of the code

What Would Make You Stand Out

• A data science or analytics background
• DevOps and cloud experience (Docker, CI/CD, AWS, Kubernetes/OpenShift) and taking prototypes to reliable production
• Experience with lakehouse or data-catalog technologies such as Apache Iceberg, Parquet, ClickHouse or OpenMetadata
• Experience building MCP servers, agent tools, retrieval or structured-output features
• ERP or manufacturing domain knowledge, or experience with BI or analytics products

The gross salary in this position is 2900-4200 EUR/month. Keep in mind that we are open to discussing a different salary based on your skills and competencies.
