Responsabilidades

  • Collaborate with departments to forecast needs and prioritize deliveries.
  • Ensure safety and regulatory compliance for hazardous materials.
  • Prepare inventory and usage reports for management review.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Amentum is seeking a Material Management Specialist to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. TheMaterial Management Specialistis responsible for overseeing the procurement, inventory, distribution, and tracking of materials and supplies to ensure operational needs are met efficiently and effectively. This role collaborates with multiple teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, streamline supply chain processes, and ensure compliance with organizational and contractual requirements. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Job Responsibilities:
  • Managing material inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels, and tracking material usage and restocking schedules.
  • Overseeing theprocurement process, including ordering, receiving, and issuing materials and supplies.
  • Monitoring storage facilities to ensure proper handling, storage, and distribution of materials in compliance with safety and operational guidelines.
  • Verifying that all materials conform to required specifications and addressing any issues related to quality, shortages, or damaged goods.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records of material inventory, transactions, and audits for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Coordinating with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of critical materials, and resolving issues related to delays or backorders.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of material management procedures to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborating with operational departments to assess material needs, forecast future requirements, and prioritize delivery schedules.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety and environmental protocols when handling hazardous materials (HAZMAT) or regulated substances.
  • Preparing and generating inventory and material usage reports for management review.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications:
  • Three (3) years of experiencein material management, handling, procurement, inventory control, or related roles.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software, or material tracking tools.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain and logistics functions, including procurement, warehousing, and inventory control.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Solid communication and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate efforts across teams and departments.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and effective time management abilities.
  • Must be in possession of avalid passportand able to travel internationally.
  • Passport must be valid for a minimum ofone (1) yearat the time of hire.
  • Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
  • Ability to successfully meet contract medical requirements and maintain operational readiness for the duration of deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as CIPM (Certified Inventory & Procurement Manager) or APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management) accreditation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast inventory and material needs accurately.
  • Prior experience working in military or government procurement and material management settings.
  • Knowledge of HAZMAT shipping, handling, and storage procedures.
  • Experience in a remote OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) or austere environment.
