The University of Cádiz is offering a research post for the Vibrante project, focused on surveillance, biosafety, and reduction of Vibrio threats through LED treatments. You will apply microbiological methods to detect and quantify Vibrio spp.

and other marine bacteria, and participate in coastal sampling campaigns. Responsibilities include preparation of samples for analyses, data interpretation, and presenting results at international conferences; collaboration with CCMAR and University

Qualificações

• Experience in sampling and processing environmental/biological samples, water and molluscs.
• Microbiological techniques for culture, isolation, identification and quantification of microorganisms.
• Experience in water treatment or disinfection trials and in analysis of physicochemical parameters.
• Proven ability to communicate on scientific and technical matters in English.

Responsabilidades

• Apply microbiological methods for detection, quantification and identification of Vibrio spp. and other marine bacteria.
• Participate in sampling campaigns for coastal waters and molluscs.
• Prepare samples for microbiological, molecular and toxin analyses, including extraction and SPE; conduct experimental trials.
• Analyse and interpret data and present results at international conferences.
• Undertake research placements at collaborating institutions such as CCMAR (Portugal) and University College Dublin (Ireland).
• Maintain documentation and contribute to project administration.
