Runnymede College in Madrid is seeking a Mandarin Teacher to run extracurricular Mandarin lessons on Mondays from 16:00 to 17:00 for pupils in Year 3 through Year 13. The ideal candidate will engage students with effective teaching methods and differentiation while fostering a love for language learning.

The role requires a degree and a Mandarin teaching certificate, with prior experience in an international/British school and a solid command of English. ICT in the classroom is a plus.

• A degree qualification.
• A qualified Mandarin teaching certificate.
• Experience teaching in an international/British school for Years 3–13.
• Experience preparing pupils for language examinations.
• Ability to adapt learning strategies to individual students.
• Strong classroom management and high expectations of effort and behaviour.
• Organised and able to prioritise to meet deadlines.
• Very good level of English.
• Good working knowledge of ICT in the classroom.

Responsabilidades

Requisitos

The successful candidate will be committed to achieving the very best for pupils at all levels. They will be able to engage and motivate pupils using effective methods of teaching and differentiation.

The successful applicant will have:

• a degree qualification
• a qualified teaching certificate for Mandarin
• previous teaching experience in an international/British school working with pupils in Years 3 - 13
• previous experience preparing pupils for language examinations
• the ability to modify learning strategies to target the needs of individual students
• high expectations of pupils’ effort and behaviour, and facilitate this with proven classroom management skills
• be organised and able to prioritise to meet deadlines
• very good level of English
• have a good working knowledge of ICT systems and the application of ICT in the classroom
