GE Vernova is seeking a qualified engineer in the Basque Country to design hydro generators for new projects and refurbishments. You will apply mechanical or electrical expertise, work with cross‑functional teams, and ensure safety, quality, and performance across the project lifecycle.

The role emphasizes applying design criteria, evaluating parts feasibility, and contributing to continuous improvement while collaborating with internal stakeholders. Relocation assistance is not indicated.

Formación

• Advanced experience in Engineering/Technology & Mechanical Components.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma with relevant experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

Responsabilidades

• Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
• Understand key business drivers and how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• Provide informal guidance to new team members; may be an individual contributor or early people leader capable of hiring and developing talent.
• Design hydro generators within transactional business, respecting customer specification and GE Vernova internal design criteria, manufacturing, assembly and maintenance feasibility while maintaining a safety, quality, delivery and cost mindset. Refurbish existing products, accommodating new or refurbished parts on existing units.

Job Description Summary

Roles and Responsibilities

• Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products.
• Develop in‑depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
• In‑depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In‑depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• Use some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on‑the‑job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
• Provide informal guidance to new team members; may be an individual contributor or early people leader capable of hiring and developing talent.
• Design hydro generators within transactional business, respecting customer specification and GE Vernova internal design criteria, manufacturing, assembly and maintenance feasibility while maintaining a safety, quality, delivery and cost mindset. Refurbish existing products, accommodating new or refurbished parts on existing units. Secure the right technical interfaces, consolidation and well‑designed coordination in between the technical project team.

Required Qualifications

• Advanced experience in Engineering/Technology & Mechanical Component. Knowledge level comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma with relevant experience.
