Neptune North Limited is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Analytics Team in Madrid. The role involves building data pipelines to the firm's central data platform, and developing, testing, and maintaining the platform to ensure data availability, reliability, and integrity for the investment process.

You will design and develop pipelines from external vendors and partners, contribute to platform enhancements, and ensure data quality.

Formación

• 3-6 years of data engineering experience required.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field with strong academic background.
• Hedge fund experience is essential.
• Expertise in designing and building data pipelines.
• Proficiency with SQL, Python, AWS, and Git; familiarity with Airflow.
• Ability to test and troubleshoot data platforms reliably and improve data quality.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer for our client’s Data Analytics Team. This role involves building data pipelines to the firm’s central data platform as well as development, testing and maintenance of said platform to ensure the availability, reliability, and integrity of data critical to the investment process.

• Data Pipeline Development: Design and develop sophisticated data pipelines to import data from external vendors, sell-side partners, and other providers seamlessly into our central data platform.
• Platform Development & Testing:Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our platform to ensure it aligns with ever-changing business requirements. Test the system regularly to confirm its effectiveness and perform troubleshooting when necessary.
• Platform Maintenance & Data Reliability:Ensure our platform is well-maintained, enabling uninterrupted access to crucial data points. Continuously verify data quality and integrity essential for our investment process.
• Continuous Improvement & Collaboration:Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline data accessibility and usability. Drive innovation by adopting advanced analytics technologies and methodologies.

What makes a great candidate

• 3-6 years of experience as a data engineer or a related role
• Minimum 7.0 result in degree obtained in Computer Science, or a related field, ideally from a top-ranked university, as well as strong academic background prior.
• Hedge fund experience is essential
• Expertise in designing and building data pipelines
• Proficient in SQL, Python, AWS and other data management technologies
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git and orchestration tools like Airflow
• Ability to test and troubleshoot data platforms reliably. A track record of improving data reliability and quality
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-based environment
• Self-starter, detail-oriented, and open to learning new technologies and methodologies
