Job description

Are you passionate about community engagement and teaching adults and seniors? A private organisation in Mallorca is looking for an enthusiastic sociocultural workshop instructor to lead diverse recreational and educational activities across the island. In this role, you will organise and lead enriching sessions designed to promote physical well-being, active ageing, and cultural connection among middle-aged and older participants. The position is based on-site in Mallorca under a permanent discontinuous contract linked to the official school calendar.

Responsibilities

• Leading sociocultural workshops covering topics such as English language practice, traditional Ball de bot, maintenance gymnastics, yoga, pilates, and line dancing
• Directing classroom and movement activities tailored specifically to second and third age participants
• Facilitating an engaging, safe, and motivating learning atmosphere during all workshop hours
• Adapting exercises and lessons to the abilities and pace of mature learners
• Managing attendance and delivering structured monthly workshop modules according to the activity plan

Requirements

• Fluency in both Spanish and Catalan to communicate smoothly with local participants
• Knowledge or instructional ability in one or more workshop subjects: English, gentle gymnastics, Ball de bot, yoga, pilates, or line dance
• Prior experience working with seniors or adult community groups is highly valued
• A responsible, patient, and motivating approach to teaching and group coordination

You will receive clear contractual conditions governed by the official collective agreement for leisure and free time activities (Convenio de ocio y tiempo libre). The contract offered is permanent discontinuous (indefinido fijo discontinuo) following the academic schedule. Compensation is set at 19 euros gross per hour, based on 8 hours per monthly workshop and determined by the actual number of workshops you instruct. Workshop sessions run within morning and afternoon time slots, specifically between 09:30 to 12:30 and 16:30 to 20:00.
