AECOM is seeking a Principal Ground Engineer to lead ground and tunnelling design for transportation and water projects, driving performance in a multinational team in Madrid and beyond.

You will steer multidisciplinary teams, set technical direction, and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards across international contexts. This is a senior role requiring strong leadership and a proven track record.

Formación

• Proven track record of ground and tunnelling engineering designs for transportation and water projects.
• Team management experience (+3 years) will be considered favorably.
• Proficiency using Rocscience, Plaxis (2D/3D), Geostudio, Openground, Leapfrog etc.
• Experience with international regulations and standards (AASTHO; Eurocodes; British Standards, etc.).
• Fluent in English (oral and written).

Responsabilidades

• Acts as lead ground engineer on mid- to large-size projects supported by EC.
• Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts and conducts complex value engineering evaluations, determining alternative designs and construction techniques.
• Performs quality control reviews of work and approves/signs off on work.
• Accounts for results of the team and adherence to budget for a package of work.
• Delivers clear communication to clarify expectations and requirements.
• Trains, mentors and evaluates less experienced staff.
