Wizeline is seeking a senior software engineer to own multiple products, leading feature development and architectural decisions. You will design, build, and scale web applications with React and Node.js, create GraphQL APIs, and optimize cloud-based services on AWS.

You will guide junior developers, establish best practices, and collaborate with editorial and product teams to deliver reliable software in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience architecting and building scalable web applications.
• Expert-level JavaScript skills with strong experience developing applications using React.
• Extensive experience building GraphQL APIs with Node.js.
• Strong experience with AWS, including S3, EC2, RDS, API Gateway, CloudFront, Lambda.
• In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL and database technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, performance, and maintainability.
• Experience mentoring junior developers and leading technical direction.

Responsabilidades

Key Responsibilities

• Take full technical ownership of multiple products, including building new features, implementing technical improvements, and providing support to editorial teams.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
• Develop and maintain GraphQL APIs using Node.js, with NestJS experience as a plus.
• Design and optimize cloud-based applications and services using AWS.
• Work with PostgreSQL and other database technologies to build reliable and scalable data solutions.
• Lead and provide technical direction to a team of junior developers.
• Establish and enforce software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, Git, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Continuously optimize application architecture, performance, scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
• Build and promote reusable components and solutions that can be leveraged across multiple products and teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to communicate solutions, demonstrate work, identify risks, and drive projects forward.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment while meeting critical project timelines.
• Provide technical guidance and independently drive solutions while seeking feedback when appropriate.

Must-have Skills

• 5+ years of experience architecting and building scalable web applications.
• Expert-level JavaScript skills with strong experience developing applications using React.
• Extensive experience building GraphQL APIs with Node.js.
• Strong experience with AWS, including:

• In-depth knowledge of database technologies with hands‑on experience using PostgreSQL.
• Real-world experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Experience with software engineering best practices, including unit testing, code reviews, Git, documentation, and coding standards.
• Experience providing technical direction and mentoring junior developers.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, identify risks, and drive solutions in a fast-paced agile environment.

Nice-to-have:

• AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day‑to‑day work, including coding, drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows.
• Experience with NestJS.
• Experience building reusable components, shared libraries, or platforms following an open‑source mentality.
• Experience working in the media and publishing industry.
• Experience building tools or platforms used by editorial, content, or newsroom teams.
• Experience designing highly scalable and high‑performance web applications.
• Strong understanding of cloud‑native and distributed application architectures.
• Experience optimizing application performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Experience working with multiple engineering teams and driving technical standards across teams.
