Q-tech in Madrid is seeking a Lead Engineer & Data Platform to own the end-to-end architecture of our enterprise data platform across hybrid environments. This is a leadership role shaping architecture, standards and the platform's future.

You will lead technical direction, drive automation via IaC and CI/CD, mentor engineers, and collaborate with global teams in a regulated financial setting. Fluent English required.

Formación

• 12+ years of experience in data/platform engineering for enterprise-scale platforms.
• Production experience with Airflow and Kafka.
• Experience integrating batch and streaming pipelines (Snowflake, Airflow, Kafka).
• Advanced Python and SQL; Java is a plus.
• Terraform, Git, CI/CD; OpenShift or Kubernetes a plus.
• Experience in regulated environments: security and compliance.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder communication.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Responsabilidades

• Own end-to-end architecture and evolution of the enterprise data platform across hybrid environments.
• Set the technical direction: roadmap, standards and reusable patterns for orchestration, scheduling and data processing.
• Lead architectural decisions, proofs of concept and adoption plans focused on scalability, security and cost.
• Establish reliability, observability and operational standards (monitoring, alerting, failure recovery, SLOs).
• Drive automation through infrastructure as code, CI/CD and automated testing.
• Staying hands-on: design and code reviews, mentoring, and championing a culture of engineering excellence.

At Q-tech, we're hiring a Lead Engineer & Data Platform to join a data infrastructure team that provides the secure, scalable and trustworthy foundation for storing, processing and distributing critical enterprise data, across cloud and on-premises environments.

This isn't just a technical role: it's a leadership position with direct impact on architecture, engineering standards and the future of the platform.

Location: Madrid

Your day-to-day would include:

• Owning the end-to-end architecture and evolution of the enterprise data platform across hybrid environments.
• Setting the technical direction: roadmap, standards and reusable patterns for orchestration, scheduling and data processing.
• Leading architectural decisions, proofs of concept and adoption plans focused on scalability, security and cost.

What we're looking for:

• Production experience with Apache Airflow and Apache Kafka / event-driven architectures.
• Proven ability to integrate batch and streaming pipelines (Snowflake, Airflow, Kafka).
• Advanced Python and SQL; Java experience for Kafka-based services/connectors is a plus.
• Terraform, Git, CI/CD; OpenShift or Kubernetes experience is a plus.
• Experience in regulated environments: security, data quality, access management and compliance.
• Proven technical leadership: team direction, mentoring and communication with technical and business stakeholders.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
