Job summary

DWS Group in Madrid seeks a Lead Engineer – Data Platform to own the design and evolution of our hybrid data platform. You will lead a high‑impact team, set technical direction and contribute directly to architecture and code.

The role requires deep Snowflake expertise, Airflow and Kafka experience, strong Python/SQL skills and a track record of guiding enterprise-scale data initiatives. Hybrid work is offered.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in data or platform engineering with enterprise-scale platforms.
• Deep hands-on Snowflake across architecture, ingestion, transformation and governance.
• Strong production experience with Airflow, Kafka, Python and SQL.
• Knowledge of Terraform, Git, CI/CD; OpenShift or Kubernetes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture and evolution of enterprise data platform capabilities across hybrid cloud and on‑prem.
• Define technical roadmaps, standards and reusable patterns for orchestration and data processing.
• Lead architectural decisions, PoCs and adoption plans with a focus on reliability and cost.
• Drive automation via infrastructure as code, CI/CD, testing and self-service tooling.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with security, governance and applications teams.
