DWS Group in Madrid is seeking a Lead Engineer – Data Platform to drive the design, build and evolution of a hybrid data platform. You will lead a high-impact team, set technical direction and contribute to architecture and code.

The role requires 12+ years in data/platform engineering, deep Snowflake and Kafka expertise, and strong Python/SQL skills with a focus on reliability, security and compliance. Hybrid working is available.

Formación

• 12+ years of experience in data/platform engineering with enterprise-scale data platforms.
• Deep Snowflake architecture, ingestion, transformation, workload management and governance.
• Strong hands-on Airflow with reusable DAG patterns, dependency management and monitoring.
• Kafka expertise including topic design, producers/consumers and schema management.
• Experience integrating batch and streaming pipelines across Snowflake, Airflow and Kafka.
• Advanced Python and SQL; Java experience for Kafka-based services is beneficial.
• Terraform, Git, CI/CD; OpenShift or Kubernetes experience desirable.
• Strong focus on reliability, observability, data quality, security and compliance.
• Proven technical leadership, design reviews and stakeholder communication.
• Fluent written and spoken English; ability to leverage AI tools responsibly.

Responsabilidades

• Own end-to-end architecture and evolution of enterprise data platform capabilities.
• Define technical roadmap, standards and reusable patterns for orchestration and data processing.
• Lead architectural decisions, proofs of concept and adoption plans.
• Establish reliability, observability and operational standards for data components.
• Drive platform automation through infrastructure as code, CI/CD and testing.
• Collaborate with architecture, security and governance teams to meet standards.
• Remain hands-on in architecture and code, mentor engineers and review designs.
