Job summary

Intellias is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer for Healthcare Data Interoperability. This hands-on technical leadership role focuses on building real-time, compliant healthcare data platforms using FHIR standards and modern backend technologies.

You will lead engineers across backend, data engineering, and interoperability teams, design scalable APIs, and ensure secure, scalable delivery in a remote setup from Spain with US healthcare ecosystem focus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in healthcare interoperability or HealthTech.
• 5+ years of practical experience with FHIR, including production implementations; strong knowledge of FHIR R4.
• 3+ years of technical leadership experience leading backend/data/healthcare interoperability teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, development, and production operation of large-scale healthcare interoperability solutions.
• Mentor and manage backend/data engineers responsible for data pipelines and interoperability infrastructure.
• Design and evolve FHIR-based APIs and integration services (Patient Access, Bulk FHIR, etc.).
