IFF in Benicarló, Spain, onsite, seeks a Laboratory Operations Leader to run day-to-day Process R&D labs, ensuring safety, organization, and productivity.

You will optimize space, manage reagents and inventory, coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, EHS, Purchasing, IT, and suppliers, and drive continuous improvement. The role emphasizes training, compliance, and documenting procedures to support reliability and cost efficiency.

Formación

• University degree or advanced vocational qualification in Chemistry, Laboratory Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Analysis & Quality Control, or a related field.
• Experience managing laboratory operations, equipment, facilities, or technical activities within an industrial or R&D environment.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety practices, chemical management, risk assessment, and documentation standards.
• Experience with purchasing, installing, commissioning, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including EHS, Engineering, Maintenance, Purchasing, IT, suppliers, and laboratory users.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Experience using systems and tools for inventory management, task tracking, and record keeping.
• Functional English skills for communication with suppliers and regional or global stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Process R&D laboratories, ensuring a safe, organized, and productive working environment.
• Optimize laboratory organization, space utilization, reagent management, and inventory control to support experimental activities efficiently.
• Ensure the availability of laboratory supplies, shared services, and resources needed for R&D operations.
• Manage laboratory equipment throughout its lifecycle, including procurement, installation, commissioning, calibration, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, EHS, Purchasing, IT, suppliers, and laboratory users to support laboratory capabilities and improvements.
• Oversee laboratory safety practices, documentation, risk assessments, and compliance with applicable standards and procedures.
• Support onboarding and training of new laboratory users, promoting best practices and safe working behaviors.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, sustainability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Maintain laboratory records, procedures, and operational documentation to ensure effective laboratory management.
