IRB Barcelona is seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to support our cancer biology and genetics research teams in Barcelona. You will prepare samples, run routine tests, and help with experiments while maintaining equipment and recording data accurately.

The role emphasizes strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a demanding research environment within an international biomedical centre.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in sciences or equivalent experience.

IRB Barcelona is seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to support our research teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing samples, and assisting with experiments in cancer biology and genetics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and label samples for analysis.

• Conduct routine laboratory tests and procedures.

• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.

• Record and analyze data accurately.

• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

• Assist researchers with experiments and projects.

• Manage laboratory supplies and inventory.

YOU HAVE

• Bachelor's degree in sciences or equivalent experience.

• Experience of 4 years in a laboratory setting.

• Knowledge of laboratory techniques and safety protocols.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Highly motivated and collaborative person.

• Willing to keep on learning.

• Ability to work independently in a demanding research environment.

YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE

• Familiarity with experimental models of cancer.

• Experience in Immunohistochemistry techniques

• Certification to work with experimental models

• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

• Experience with data analysis software.

ABOUT IRB BARCELONA

Created in 2005 by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia) and the University of Barcelona, IRB Barcelona, a Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence since the first call in 2011, has received the accreditation four consecutive times.

The institute is devoted to conducting research of excellence in biomedicine and to transferring results to clinical practice, thus improving people’s quality of life, while simultaneously promoting the training of outstanding researchers, technology transfer, and public communication of science.
