Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space SAU is seeking a Junior Microwave Instrument DSP Engineer in Getafe (Madrid). You will work within the Microwave Instrument Engineering Team on digital architecture, signal-processing pipelines, and data-flow algorithms turning raw microwave radiometer measurements into calibrated satellite data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Applied Mathematics.
• Entry-level / Early-career with internships, thesis work or initial industry experience in DSP or embedded instrumentation.
• Strong fundamentals in DSP theory, sampling, filtering, spectral analysis, calibration; proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and Python or C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Define onboard data-acquisition architectures and processing chains (DSP, calibration, data compression).
• Develop DSP algorithms (FFT, matched filtering, noise reduction) in MATLAB/Python and port to C/C++/FPGA.
• Create instrument performance simulators (MATLAB-Simulink, SystemVue) for data-rate budgeting and robustness analyses.
• Support FPGA/firmware prototyping and lab verification with RF front-ends.
