Xcalibur MPH Spain in Madrid seeks a Junior GIS Technician to support the design, implementation and maintenance of geospatial projects across the Geospatial Technologies department. You will work with GIS software, spatial databases and mapping applications, with opportunities for growth in a multinational environment.

Required is a Bachelor in Environmental Sciences, Geography, or related fields, strong GIS skills (ArcGIS/QGIS) and knowledge of PostGIS; English or French fluency is mandatory

• Ability to produce and maintain GIS deliverables and web maps.

• Fluent in English or French; additional languages welcomed.

Responsabilidades

• Create, update, and manage digital cartography and maps using GIS software.
• Conduct GIS process analysis, including vector and raster data management.
• Implement and maintain relational/spatial databases (Postgres/PostGIS).
• Produce and manage GIS deliverables, including web maps and GIS-based applications.
• Provide support and technical assistance to internal and external clients regarding GIS products and services.
• Collaborate with engineers and consultants in projects related to natural resources, mining, energy transportation, and the environment.
• Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement within the Geospatial Technologies department.

Job Overview

Qualifications

• Experience in GIS process analysis and tools for vector and raster data.
• Familiarity with producing and maintaining GIS deliverables, web maps, and GIS-based applications.
• Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to address technical queries effectively.
• High level of English or French (mandatory); additional languages will be valued.
• Knowledge of programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Java, PHP) will be considered an asset.
