Grifols, S.A. seeks an Innovation Scientist to join its Progenika Biopharma R&D team in Derio (Bilbao). You will develop and optimize analytical methods using molecular biology, NGS and microbiology, handling diverse samples and microorganisms.

The role includes experimental design, data interpretation, technique development, and cross-functional collaboration, with English presentations to teams and compliance with ISO and regulatory standards. A PhD is required with related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology or related Life Sciences field.
• PhD preferred with Molecular Biology/NGS specialization and optional 2 years lab experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise with biological samples and microorganisms; experience with clinical diagnostics is a plus.
• Proficiency in molecular techniques (nucleic acid extraction, PCR, NGS).
• Data analysis skills using R, JMP, and bioinformatics software.

Responsabilités

• Design, propose, execute and analyze experiments to generate high-quality results.
• Work with team to manage routine lab activities.
• Develop and apply molecular biology techniques including nucleic acid extraction, PCR, and NGS.
• Analyze data and communicate findings to the team.
• Ensure SOPs and regulatory compliance (ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820) in design and reporting.
• Train lab personnel and present in English to cross-functional teams.
• Work with BSL-2 materials (viruses, bacteria, fungi, clinical samples).
• Collaborate with R&D teams, especially the San Diego group.
• Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs, Quality Control, and Manufacturing.
