Amazon Barcelona is seeking an Innovation Engineer to design the next generation of intralogistics, applying automated material handling equipment, packaging tech and robotics. You will own multiple projects from concept through design approval, partner with internal and external teams, provide technical leadership, and hand off to Ops Engineering for installation and commissioning.

Are you an Innovative Engineer that wants to design the next generation of world-class fulfillment centers and logistics systems across the globe? Do you want a high level of ownership in solving complex problems? Does the idea of designing Intralogistics systems that leverage ground breaking automated Material Handling Equipment, packaging technologies and robotics appeal to you? If so, we have the job for you!We’re looking to add a high-impact engineer to our team in Europe / United Kingdom. A successful candidate will have an established background in creating high-performance physical systems, a strong technical problem-solving ability, excellent project management skills, and an internal motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced, and often ambiguous environment. In this role, you will partner with internal and external teams to design high quality, cost effective solutions for our fulfillment and distribution systems. You will own multiple projects simultaneously, from concept realization through design approval. You will be our suppliers’ primary point of technical contact for your projects. Then, once the design is completed and approved, you will hand-off the project to our Ops Engineering team who will oversee the installation and commissioning of the project. You’ll continue working with that team to ensure that the system you’ve designed is successfully installed, commissioned and launched.Your projects will include green-fields, brown-fields, and retrofits.

Our team to designs fulfillment centers, cross-dock facilities, specialty facilities (ex. reverse logistics, hazmat) and ground and air transportation centers throughout North America and Europe.

Basic qualifications

• Experience in Design/Innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related work
• Experience in management of engineering design projects

Preferred qualification

• Master's degree in Engineering (any domain) or foreign equivalent, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
• Knowledge of concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing
• Experience with design-in-safety
• Experience with process design based on Lean Principles
