Lointek Mex Sa is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer for a fully remote role. You will design, implement, and maintain control systems and instrumentation for global upstream and midstream hydrocarbon operations, leveraging DCS, PLC, and SIS expertise across international teams.

The role requires strong knowledge of IEC/ISA standards, remote collaboration, and a proactive approach to safety and efficiency in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of instrumentation and control engineering experience.
• Proficient with DCS (Honeywell Experion, Emerson DeltaV), PLC (Siemens, Rockwell), and SIS platforms.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Modbus).
• Knowledge of ISA/IEC standards; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and remote-team collaboration skills; fluent in Spanish and English.
• Dedicated home office setup with reliable high-speed internet.

• Design and specify instrumentation and control systems for hydrocarbon processing plants.
• Develop control strategies and programming for DCS and PLC systems.
• Configure and Commission SIS according to IEC 61511 or relevant standards.

• Provide remote technical support for troubleshooting and resolving instrumentation and control issues.
• Develop P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), control narratives, and instrument datasheets.
• Collaborate with project teams, vendors, and site personnel to ensure successful project execution.
• Oversee the integration of new control systems and instrumentation with existing infrastructure.
• Stay updated on industry standards, technologies, and best practices in instrumentation and control for the hidrocarburos sector.
• Contribute to the development of functional safety assessments and risk analyses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering, with significant exposure to the hidrocarburos industry.
• In-depth knowledge of DCS (e.g., Honeywell Experion, Emerson DeltaV), PLC (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell), and SIS platforms.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Modbus).
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards (ISA, IEC).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, international team.
• Proficiency in both Spanish and English is required.
• Must have a dedicated home office setup with reliable high-speed internet access.
