Generali España in Spain seeks a Senior Oracle DBA & Database Engineer to deliver advanced Oracle expertise across application support, database engineering, automation, migrations and project activities.

The role blends Oracle administration, SQL and PL/SQL development, performance tuning and production support, working closely with application owners, developers and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable, compliant, and scalable services across the business.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in CS, math, physics or related field.
• 5+ years as an Oracle DBA, Oracle Application DBA, or Database Engineer.
• Native Spanish or C1 and English B2+ level.
• Hands-on Oracle 19c+ administration experience.
• Strong SQL/PLSQL development and performance tuning.
• Experience with migrations, upgrades and data refresh.

Responsabilidades

• Manage Oracle database users, roles, and access per security standards.
• Create, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle objects (tables, indexes, views, procedures).
• Perform data imports, exports, migrations, and environment refresh activities.
• Monitor performance and analyze execution plans for optimizations.
• Support upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
• Automate recurring admin tasks using Bash, SQL and PL/SQL.

The Senior Application DBA & Database Engineer (Oracle) delivers advanced Oracle expertise across application support, database engineering, automation, migration and project activities.

The role is application-oriented and combines Oracle administration, SQL and PL/SQL expertise, performance analysis, operational support and project delivery.

The position works closely with application owners, developers, infrastructure teams, project teams and external partners to support business-critical services throughout the application lifecycle.

Job Description - Main Tasks:

• Manage Oracle database users, roles, privileges and access requirements in accordance with security and compliance standards.
• Create, maintain and troubleshoot Oracle objects, including tables, indexes, views, sequences, procedures, functions, packages and triggers.
• Assess and implement database changes requested by application teams through the applicable service request and change management processes.
• Perform and support data imports, exports, loads, migrations, cloning and environment refresh activities.
• Manage tablespaces, datafiles and application capacity requirements in coordination with infrastructure teams.
• Monitor Oracle database and SQL performance, analyze execution plans and recommend appropriate optimizations.
• Provide advanced support for Oracle-related incidents, service disruptions and escalations, including root cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Support development, test, pre-production and production environments.
• Participate in Oracle upgrades, migrations, modernization initiatives and application transformation projects.
• Assess the Oracle database impact of new application requirements and contribute to technical studies, design reviews and feasibility assessments.
• Prepare implementation approaches, technical documentation, change runbooks and production deployment activities.
• Develop, maintain and troubleshoot automation using Bash, SQL and PL/SQL.
• Automate recurring administration, monitoring, data-processing and reporting activities.
• Provide guidance to application and development teams on SQL, PL/SQL, database objects and Oracle-related troubleshooting.
• Participate in disaster recovery preparation and testing, audit evidence collection and regulatory compliance activities.
• Maintain operational procedures and transfer knowledge within the international DBA organization

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, Oracle Application DBA, or Database Engineer.
• Native Spanish or C1 level and English B2 or higher.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Oracle Database 19c+ administration
• SQL and PL/SQL development and performance tuning
• Oracle migrations, upgrades and database refresh activities
• Data migration tools (Data Pump, SQL*Loader)
• Linux/Unix environments and Bash scripting
• Experience supporting business-critical Oracle environments in large enterprise organizations.
• Knowledge of incident management, problem management and change management processes.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with experience performing root cause analysis.
