AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Python Developer to design and build scalable microservices and REST APIs. You will collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Frontend teams to deliver production-grade software.

The role emphasizes Python proficiency, API design, testing, and CI/CD with Docker and GitHub Actions, plus experience with relational databases and ORMs.

Qualificações

• Must have 4+ years of professional backend software development using Python (production-grade).
• Strong knowledge of Python core concepts (OOP, functional programming, memory management, async/concurrency, data structures).
• Experience building REST APIs and distributed microservices architectures.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and RESTful APIs in Python (FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
• Promote code quality through reviews, tests, and modern Python practices (type hints, async).
• Containerize apps with Docker and implement CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Design database schemas, write optimized SQL, and work with ORMs (SQLAlchemy) on PostgreSQL/MySQL/NoSQL.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Python Developer to design and build scalable microservices and REST APIs, working closely with Product, DevOps, and Frontend teams.

MUST HAVES

• 4+ years of professional backend software development experience using Python.
• Deep understanding of Python core concepts (OOP, functional programming, memory management, async/concurrency, and data structures).
• API & Microservices: Proven track record of building and deploying production-grade REST APIs and distributed microservices architectures.
• Databases: Strong proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks.
• Testing: Commitment to writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using frameworks like Pytest.
• Version Control: Advanced proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows (Pull Requests, branching strategies, code reviews).

NICE TO HAVES

• CI/CD & DevOps Tools: Solid hands-on experience with Docker (writing optimized Dockerfiles and Docker Compose).
• Highly desirable experience setting up and managing GitHub Actions workflows for automated testing and deployment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Architecture & Development: Design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable microservices and RESTful APIs using Python (e.g., FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
• Code Quality & Technical Standards: Write clean, readable, maintainable, and well-tested code. Conduct peer code reviews and promote modern Python practices (type hinting, async processing, design patterns).
• Containerization & CI/CD: Containerize applications using Docker and build/optimize automated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for seamless deployment.
• Database Management: Design schema models, write optimized SQL queries, and work with ORMs (e.g., SQLAlchemy) alongside relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
• System Integration & Scalability: Integrate third-party APIs and services while ensuring low latency, high availability, and strong security standards.
• Mentorship & Collaboration: Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams; mentor junior and mid-level engineers to elevate the team's overall technical capability.
