Job summary

Alignerr is seeking an Image Description Specialist (AI Training) to craft clear, accurate, and richly detailed image descriptions that help AI systems learn to interpret visuals. This remote hourly-contract role offers flexibility and a chance to work on cutting-edge research projects.

You will annotate a wide range of images, follow strict guidelines, and produce consistent, high-quality descriptions on a schedule that suits you.

• Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

• Write detailed, structured descriptions of images spanning a wide range of types — including photographs, illustrations, diagrams, charts, and more
• Identify and articulate key visual elements such as objects, people, settings, actions, relationships, and spatial context
• Follow clear annotation guidelines to ensure consistent format, depth, and accuracy across all descriptions
• Label and classify visual content according to provided frameworks and category systems
• Maintain high quality and consistency when working through large batches of images
• Complete task-based assignments independently on your own schedule

Who You Are

• Naturally observant — you notice details others might miss
• Strong descriptive writing ability with clear, precise language
• Comfortable following structured guidelines and applying them consistently across varied content
• Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
• Able to sustain accuracy and attention to detail over extended tasks
• No photography, design, or AI experience required

Nice to Have

• Background in writing, editing, journalism, or visual communication
