Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a Backend/ Full Stack Software Engineer (mid to senior) to join our Valencia or Algeciras office. You will work on cloud-based applications using Angular and Java Spring Boot in a microservices environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions.

The role involves full SDLC participation, API and event-driven integrations, tests, and continuous improvement, with hybrid work options and a focus on maritime industry

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Backend development (Java).
• 3+ years of Frontend development (Angular).
• Hands-on experience with Angular and TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and async communication.
• Knowledge of clean code principles and software development best practices.
• Experience with automated testing on frontend and backend.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive and team-oriented attitude with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web application features using Java (Spring Boot).
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle (design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance).
• Collaborate with Product Managers and UX/UI designers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate Kafka-based events.
• Write clean, efficient, testable, maintainable code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and improve development standards.
• Implement intuitive and responsive user interfaces based on UX/UI designs.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve defects and performance issues.
• Create automated tests to ensure quality of delivered features.
• Document technical solutions and share knowledge with team.
