The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is seeking a Workflow Management Software Engineer (RE2) to advance the Autosubmit workflow engine within the Earth Sciences department. You will develop, test, and document end-to-end workflows for weather and climate simulations on state-of-the-art HPC systems in Barcelona.

You will contribute to the evolution of workflow orchestration software, support users, and publish results from our work.

Formación

• Bachelor in Computer Science or related discipline; Master’s degree valued.
• Excellent Python 3 and OOP skills; UNIX/Linux environments and scripting.
• Experience writing and maintaining tests (unit, functional).
• Version control in Git/SVN; familiarity with scientific Python packages (NumPy, SciPy).
• Fluency in English; ability to work in international team.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate activities related to the Autosubmit workflow engine development, testing, and documentation.
• Contribute to development strategy by analyzing user needs and comparing workflow tools.
• Identify priorities and contribute to short/medium-term plans to meet objectives.
• Improve convergence and efficiency of workflows across the department.
• Support users inside and outside BSC by adding features to existing tools.
• Maintain deployment on multiple HPC platforms; publish code to PyPi and Git repositories.
• Deliver results through workshops, seminars, and publications.
