Job summary

Nextpower is seeking a Manager of Structural & Geotechnical Engineering based in Madrid, Spain. You will report to the Sr.

Manager of Engineering and lead the structural, geotechnical and operations engineering teams on utility-scale solar tracker projects. Responsibilities include overseeing design, foundation calculations, and civil construction plans, conducting complex structural analyses, and driving value engineering while ensuring compliance with Eurocodes and international standards.

Qualifications

• Must have 7–10 years of professional experience in the solar utility-scale industry.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of structural analysis software and foundation design.
• Deep knowledge of Eurocodes and international civil design regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage structural, geotechnical, and operations engineering teams.
• Oversee design of tracker layouts, foundation calculations, and civil construction plans.
• Perform complex structural analysis and optimize tracker placement.
• Lead value engineering to reduce costs while maintaining performance.
• Ensure designs comply with Eurocodes and relevant standards.
• Coordinate with regional management and cross-functional teams on standards and initiatives.
• Set team processes, workloads, and KPI metrics; support training and conflict resolution.
