Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Performance Creative based in Spain.

We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded creative leader to drive profitable customer acquisition for a high-growth direct-to-consumer (DTC) health and wellness business. In this senior role, you’ll own performance creative strategy across multiple products and paid media channels, transforming customer insights and campaign data into high-impact advertising concepts. You will lead internal creative strategists, manage external agency partnerships, and establish a scalable system for creative testing and production. Working closely with Growth and performance marketing teams, you will balance compelling storytelling with measurable commercial results. This fully remote opportunity offers significant influence over creative direction, team development, and acquisition strategy. The ideal candidate combines strategic leadership with hands-on creative judgment and a strong focus on continuous improvement.

Accountabilities
  • Own performance creative strategy: Develop and execute a structured creative testing strategy aligned with customer acquisition targets, product priorities, and profitability goals.

  • Identify new growth opportunities: Use customer research, audience psychology, competitor analysis, market trends, and performance insights to uncover new messaging angles, customer segments, and advertising formats.

  • Build a consistent creative pipeline: Balance original concepts, iterations of proven advertisements, refreshed creative assets, and campaigns supporting new product launches.

  • Lead and develop creative talent: Mentor internal creative strategists, strengthen their commercial judgment, and establish clear expectations for quality, ownership, and accountability.

  • Manage external agency partnerships: Oversee strategic briefs, creative reviews, performance evaluations, and optimization efforts, making recommendations on resource allocation and agency effectiveness.

  • Translate data into decisions: Analyze ROAS, customer acquisition costs, conversion rates, engagement, and profitable media spend to determine which concepts to scale, refine, retest, or discontinue.

  • Leverage performance analytics: Use platforms such as Triple Whale and native advertising dashboards to understand creative effectiveness and identify the drivers behind campaign results.

  • Address creative fatigue: Maintain a reliable supply of fresh concepts and replacement assets while building a centralized knowledge base of successful campaigns, unsuccessful tests, and reusable insights.

  • Remain hands-on with creative development: Personally develop or substantially refine approximately 10 high-quality creative briefs per week, covering hooks, scripts, user-generated content (UGC), video advertisements, static creative, product demonstrations, storytelling, and landing-page concepts.

  • Strengthen creative quality: Ensure new concepts introduce meaningful strategic differences rather than superficial variations, balancing premium brand presentation with persuasive direct-response messaging.

  • Build scalable operating systems: Establish efficient workflows spanning research, ideation, briefing, production, approvals, launch, and performance analysis.

  • Improve operational efficiency: Collaborate with Creative Operations to manage workflows in Notion or similar tools, reduce production bottlenecks, and introduce quality assurance processes, scorecards, and clear decision-making frameworks.

  • Use technology and automation: Apply AI-enabled tools and automation where appropriate to improve research, reporting, creative intelligence, and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure responsible messaging: Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to help ensure product claims and advertising materials meet applicable compliance requirements.

  • Deliver measurable progress: Assess the existing creative function during the first month, strengthen systems and execution during the second, and demonstrate early improvements in testing effectiveness, creative output, team ownership, and production consistency by the third month.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience leading performance creative strategy for an established, high-growth DTC or eCommerce brand, or within a performance-focused creative agency.

  • Demonstrated success developing, testing, and scaling effective paid advertising concepts, particularly on Meta platforms.

  • Strong experience managing, mentoring, or providing strategic direction to creative strategists and external agency partners.

  • Deep understanding of direct-response marketing, consumer psychology, persuasive storytelling, conversion-focused creative, and customer acquisition economics.

  • Strong commercial understanding of ROAS, customer acquisition cost (CPA), attribution, paid media performance, and creative profitability.

  • Ability to interpret campaign data, identify meaningful patterns, and turn performance insights into clear creative decisions.

  • Exceptional creative judgment across advertising concepts, copywriting, scripts, UGC, video, static assets, and other performance marketing formats.

  • Experience managing multiple campaigns, product categories, stakeholders, or production partners simultaneously.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and decision-making skills, with the ability to build repeatable systems without limiting creative agility.

  • Excellent written communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed, remote-first environment.

  • Willingness to remain actively involved in creative strategy and briefing while operating at a senior leadership level.

  • Experience with established DTC brands in health, wellness, consumer technology, connected devices, or premium consumer products is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with significant paid media budgets and complex, multi-product acquisition strategies is an advantage.

  • Proficiency with Triple Whale, Motion, Foreplay, Notion, or comparable performance analytics and creative management platforms is a plus.

  • Experience developing performance creative across Meta, YouTube, Google Demand Gen, and TikTok is beneficial.

  • A track record of implementing creative testing frameworks, team scorecards, agency performance systems, or centralized creative intelligence libraries is desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of customer research methods, including post-purchase surveys, customer reviews, social listening, and competitor creative analysis, is an advantage.

  • Experience using AI and automation to improve creative research, reporting, and operational processes is beneficial.

  • A growth-oriented mindset, strong ownership, and the ability to challenge creative decisions constructively while explaining the reasoning behind recommendations.

Benefits:
  • Fully remote working arrangement.

  • Senior leadership opportunity with meaningful influence over performance creative strategy and customer acquisition.

  • Opportunity to shape and scale the creative function of an established, high-growth international consumer brand.

  • Collaboration with experienced Growth leadership, internal creative strategists, performance marketing teams, and external agency partners.

  • Scope to develop creative talent, improve team performance, and establish scalable workflows and testing systems.

  • Opportunity to work across multiple products, advertising channels, and creative formats in a data-driven environment.

  • Ability to combine strategic leadership with hands-on creative development and experimentation.

  • Opportunity to contribute directly to measurable business growth and the evolution of performance marketing practices.
