Beacon Legal in Madrid seeks a senior Corporate Lawyer to lead the legal function for the Spanish business and support the wider European operation.

The role covers corporate, commercial and project-related matters, working closely with business leadership and external advisers. The successful candidate will provide practical, commercial guidance in an international environment and manage external counsel as needed.

Formación

• PQE of 10-15 years.
• Qualified in England & Wales or Australia.
• Strong corporate and commercial background.
• Experience in infrastructure, projects or asset-heavy sectors preferred.
• Standalone role with ability to advise senior stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

Corporate Lawyer with experience in an infrastructure business

Our client is looking to appoint a head of legal lawyer in Madrid. The role will support the Spanish business and provide legal support to the wider European operation.

This is a broad, senior legal position, working closely with business leadership and external advisers where required. The successful candidate will be responsible for the company’s corporate, commercial and project-related legal work.

Responsibilities

• Support legal matters across Spain and the wider European group.
• Advise on corporate transactions, investments, restructurings and strategic projects.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts and other business agreements.
• Provide legal input on infrastructure and project-related matters.
• Manage external counsel and coordinate specialist advice where needed.
• Establish practical legal processes, contract management and governance arrangements.
• Work directly with senior stakeholders across the business.

Candidate requirements

• 10-15 years’ PQE.
• Qualified in England & Wales or Australia. Applicants qualified in other jurisdictions cannot be considered.
• Strong corporate and commercial background.
• Experience in infrastructure, projects or a comparable asset-heavy sector is preferred.
• A combination of private practice and in-house experience would be useful, although candidates with a strong relevant private-practice background will also be considered.
• Comfortable working in a standalone role and advising senior business stakeholders.
• Able to provide practical, commercial advice in an international environment.

This is a Madrid-based position with responsibility across Spain and Europe.
