A leading aerospace company is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer in Madrid to support space-related projects. The role involves designing electronics and ensuring robustness through various analyses. Applicants need a Master's degree and experience in electronics development. Formación

Several positions of Hardware Design Engineer are now open in Airbus CRISA (Airbus Defense & Space) in Tres Cantos (Madrid area) for different Space business sectors: Launchers, Earth Exploration (Copernicus), Space Exploration (Artemis), Commercial (Telecommunications Satellites). This is an opportunity to join a diverse and dynamic technical team focused on shaping the future based on innovation, state‑of‑the‑art product consolidation, and continuous performance improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Technical and Test Managers for the analysis of project requirements.
  • Perform architecture analysis at electronic function or module level.
  • Design detailed electronics based on electrical simulations at function level.
  • Assure design robustness through part stress analysis, worst‑case analysis, failure modes and criticality analysis, power budget analysis, and double‑insulation requirements compliance.
  • Support the Radiation Team for flight designs to assure robustness within the radiation space environment, including single‑event effects (SEE).
  • Document the design and perform laboratory and prototype testing.
  • Support the packaging team for mechanical and thermal design robustness.
  • Collaborate with the PCB CAD team and review PCB layouts.
  • Define board test procedures.
  • Participate in main project reviews (Requirement, Preliminary, Architecture, Critical Design, etc.).
  • Characterise the design and support the Test Team for acceptance of flight equipment.
  • Help resolve board NCRs raised during qualification or acceptance test campaigns.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree level (or equivalent) in engineering or science disciplines.
  • Proven experience in the development of Power, Analog or Digital electronics.
  • Proven experience using advanced laboratory instrumentation.
  • Good knowledge of design methodologies and tools for space applications (Mentor, LTSpice, Matlab, SIMetrix‑SIMPLIS).
  • Sound mathematical foundation for electronic design analysis.
  • English and Spanish at least at mid‑level, both written and spoken.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Strong teamwork and cooperation spirit.
  • Independent and accurate way of working.
Other Recommended Skills
  • Digital mindset: automation of tasks, scripting, use of digital design tools and simulators.
  • Knowledge of space environment constraints.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • For candidates with Power & Analog electronics: experience with digital control techniques.
  • For candidates with Digital electronics: experience with hardware‑software interfaces.
  • Fast prototyping techniques.
  • Willingness to learn and teach others.
