Descripción del empleo

Blackwall is a fast-growing web traffic management platform company on a mission to protect the internet from malicious automated traffic.

Our flagship product, GateKeeper, protects millions of websites and applications worldwide, working through a global network of hosting providers, service providers and technology partners.

Following our $100 million Series C funding round, we are entering an exciting new phase of international growth. We are continuing to invest in our technology, expand our global reach and build the infrastructure needed to protect businesses in an increasingly AI-driven digital world.

We're an international, remote-first team of ambitious people who value ownership, innovation and getting things done. As we grow, we're looking for people who want to make a real impact and help shape what comes next.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Group Financial Controller to help build and scale Blackwall's financial operations as we continue to grow internationally.

Reporting directly to our CFO, you'll take ownership of group accounting, financial reporting, consolidation and controls, while leading and developing our existing accounting team.

This is a role for someone who enjoys building, not simply maintaining. You'll have the opportunity to improve how we operate, introduce smarter systems and automation, and develop a finance function that can support significant growth without unnecessary complexity or additional headcount.

Working closely with the CFO, FP&A and other teams across the business, you'll play a key role in ensuring our financial information is accurate, reliable and supports effective decision-making.

What You’ll Do
Group Accounting & Financial Operations
  • Lead and oversee group accounting operations across multiple entities, including record-to-report, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay and intercompany transactions.
  • Manage, support and develop our existing accounting team, building on their experience while introducing improved processes and ways of working.
  • Own and continuously improve month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and timely reporting.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, payments and tax compliance, working closely with the accounting team and external advisors.
  • Lead group consolidation across multiple entities and currencies, including FX accounting and intercompany eliminations.
  • Drive IFRS adoption and establish consistent group accounting policies, technical accounting documentation and reporting standards.
  • Develop and maintain an effective internal control framework appropriate for a growing, investor-backed international business.
  • Lead statutory audits and coordinate local statutory reporting requirements, ensuring the group remains audit-ready throughout the year.
  • Partner closely with FP&A on monthly management accounts, financial analysis and board and investor reporting.
  • Help shape and improve our finance systems infrastructure, including accounting, billing, consolidation and payment processes.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and automate financial operations, reducing manual work and improving accuracy and scalability.
  • Introduce practical AI and automation solutions across areas such as reconciliations, invoice processing, financial controls and reporting.
  • Work across teams to ensure financial processes and systems support the needs of a growing, international business.
What We're Looking For
  • Significant experience in financial controllership or senior group accounting roles, ideally within a high-growth SaaS or technology business.
  • Strong technical accounting expertise, particularly IFRS, group consolidation and multi-entity, multi-currency reporting.
  • A proven track record of building, improving or scaling accounting operations, ideally within a VC- or PE-backed business.
  • Experience in external audit, ideally with a Big Four background, and a strong understanding of statutory audit requirements.
  • A recognised accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent.
  • Experience implementing or improving financial processes, internal controls and finance systems.
  • A strong interest in technology, AI and automation, with practical experience using these to improve financial operations.
  • Experience leading and developing accounting teams, with the ability to introduce change while maintaining operational stability.
  • A hands-on, proactive approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to balance operational requirements with longer-term improvements.
  • Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work effectively with international, remote teams.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with channel-led SaaS, B2B2B or partner-driven revenue models.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity, web infrastructure or related technology sectors.
  • Experience implementing ERP, billing, consolidation or financial automation platforms.
  • Knowledge of Estonian, UK or wider European accounting and statutory requirements.
  • Experience with scripting, workflow automation or AI agents for finance processes.
  • Exposure to fundraising, financial due diligence, M&A integration or debt financing.
Why Join Blackwall?

This is an opportunity to help shape the finance function of a rapidly growing international technology business at an important stage of its development.

You’ll work directly with our CFO, lead an established accounting team and have a real opportunity to influence how our financial operations, systems and controls evolve as the business grows.

We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, challenging established ways of working and building things that last.

We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and welcome applications from candidates with different backgrounds and experiences.
