Job summary

AstraZeneca seeks a Global Safety Program Lead, Senior Director to set and execute safety strategy for assigned assets across development and post-marketing stages.

The role oversees safety content, leads safety teams, and represents safety in governance forums. Strong pharmacovigilance expertise and regulatory experience are essential to ensure risk management and compliant submissions globally.

Qualifications

• Medical degree or equivalent in biomedicine or science.
• 5+ years in clinical safety and risk management in pharma/biotech/CRO or health authorities.
• Proven track record in clinical safety delivery with strategic influence.
• Experience navigating global regulatory submissions.
• Ability to lead and mentor safety teams.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety content for asset indications and safety strategy delivery.
• Lead SSaMT and Safety Surveillance Team for assets.
• Represent safety in governance forums (DRC, eCRC, MARC, etc.).
• Ensure regulatory submissions and PSRs meet PV regulations.
• Provide strategic safety knowledge to product teams.
• Drive risk management plans and toxicity guidelines.
• Develop safety data analyses to support labeling and studies.
