Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (Santander CIB) is seeking a Global Export and Agency Finance Associate based out of Boadilla (Madrid). The role centers on origination, structuring, and execution of ECA-backed financing across geographies, with potential progression toward origination or structuring depending on business needs.

The candidate should be highly motivated, analytical, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment with increasing client interaction.

Formación

• Minimum 4 years of advisory or lending experience in Structured/Export/Project Finance.
• Solid understanding of export finance structures and related contracts.
• International experience is highly valued.

THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE SCIB s looking for a Global Export and Agency Finance (Structuring and Product Development)- Associate based out ofBoadilla (Madrid) The Global Export and Agency Finance team is the front office origination and execution platform for Export Credit & Agency (ECA covered and MLAs transactions) globally.

The team works closely with clients, ECAs and internal stakeholders to originate, structure and execute tailored financing solutions across sectors and geographies.

The Associate will be an integral part of deal teams, supporting business development efforts while playing an active role throughout the execution lifecycle of transactions. The role offers broad exposure to the full spectrum of ECA-backed financing structures, with responsibilities that can evolve over time towards origination and/or structuring, depending on business needs and individual strengths.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, analytical, and able to perform in a demanding and fast-paced environment, with increasing interaction with clients and external counterparties.

• Support senior team members in the structuring and execution of ECA-covered financing transactions, globally. The candidate will be responsible for the structuring and coordination of ECA backed financing transactions.
• Contribute to business development activities, including new ECAs products, opportunity screening and coordination with bankers and ECAs.
• Drive internal coordination processes across relevant stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, E&S, Syndication, Middle Office, Project Finance, etc.).
• Prepare high-quality internal and external materials, ensuring strong analytical content and professional presentation standards.
• Support the coordination of the execution process through internal approval stages (business committees, Risk approvals, legal and middle office sign-off, etc.).
• Actively participate in the structuring and documentation phase, with particular focus on core finance documentation and ECA policies.
• Contribute to the development of value-added financing solutions, supporting the evolution of more complex structures.
• Contribute to a flexible, dynamic and team-oriented working culture.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience in advisory and/or lending roles within Structured Finance, Project Finance and/or Export Finance. (Required)
• Solid understanding of Export Finance and/or non-recourse financing structures and related legal and contractual frameworks. (Required)
• International experience is highly valued.(Required)

Education

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Engineering.(Required)

Languages

• Fluent English and Spanish (Required)
• German and/or French and/or another considered a plus. (Prefered)

Hard Skills

• Strong structured finance fundamentals and ability to assess transaction risks. (Required)
• Ability to analyze and address contractual, commercial and technical issues. (Required)
• Strong interdisciplinary skills across financing, structuring and documentation.(Required)
• Excellent PowerPoint and presentation skills. (Required)
• Financial modelling skills are an advantage. (Preferred)
