Job summary

Our Client, a leading industrial manufacturer, seeks a Project Engineer CAPEX to manage capital projects end-to-end in the industrial sector. The role is based in Parla, near Madrid, with responsibilities spanning scope, cost, timeline, safety, and interface with contractors and suppliers.

Reporting to the Global CAPEX area, you will lead cross-functional teams, develop specifications, control budgets, and oversee commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or related roles within industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience managing capital projects and coordinating project engineering teams.
• Demonstrated experience working in complex industrial settings with exposure to plant operations and project execution.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End management of capital projects up to ~$5M from concept through execution.
• Define project timelines, milestones and deliverables to minimize plant disruption.
• Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, maintenance, and technical staff.
• Track cost, schedule and scope; report progress to senior stakeholders.
• Develop RFQs and manage procurement, supplier selection and contractor coordination.
• Prepare engineering documentation including PFDs, P&IDs and drawings.
• Oversee commissioning and startup, ensuring performance validation.
• Conduct risk assessments (HAZOP, FMEA) and enforce safety standards.
