Hitachi Energy is seeking a Global Fire and Explosion Safety Specialist to join as Program Lead. You will lead and manage the Fire and Explosion Safety Program across our global facilities, ensuring compliance with EN (EU) regulations, SEVESO and ATEX standards, and other industry requirements.

You will travel 10–20% globally, develop cross-functional strategies, conduct risk assessments, provide training, and coordinate with Real Estate projects to ensure safety compliance across projects in

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering with a specialization in Fire and Explosion safety.
• 8+ years of experience in relevant functions.
• Knowledge of EN (EU) Fire and Explosion Regulations, SEVESO, ATEX, British Standards, API, and NFPA.
• Experience in defining and conducting Fire and Explosion safety inspections and audits.
• Willingness to travel globally (10-20%).
• Fluency in English.

• Coordinate with internal Real Estate projects to ensure compliance with legal and internal safety requirements.
• Investigate Fire and Explosion incidents, determine root causes, and prepare corrective and preventive action plans.

We are considering different locations for this role in Spain (Córdoba, Bilbao, Madrid, Zaragoza).

Your background

• Over 8 years of experience in relevant functions. In-depth understanding of EN (EU) Fire and Explosion Regulations, SEVESO, ATEX, British Standards, API, and NFPA requirements.


• Experience in defining and conducting Fire and Explosion safety inspections and audits.


• Proven ability to collaborate with insurance companies on Fire and Explosion prevention.


• Strong technical safety knowledge and experience in risk review for capital projects related to Fire and Explosion safety.


• Willingness to travel globally (10-20% time), and fluency in English.
