Job summary

Sulzer in Spain is seeking an Accountant & Tax Specialist to join the finance team in Madrid. You will manage day-to-day accounting, support VAT/tax compliance, and collaborate with local and international stakeholders.

You will work with external advisors, assist audits, and improve financial processes within a multinational environment. A hands-on professional with 2-3 years' experience and SAP familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in accounting/finance or similar role.
• Experience across multiple areas of accounting; not highly specialized.
• Knowledge of VAT, Intrastat, and tax compliance support.
• Fluent English for international stakeholders; strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities and ensure compliance with policies and local regulations.
• Process and review accounting transactions across finance areas.
• Execute and monitor bank payments, transfers and treasury activities.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes and reporting.
• Coordinate tax-related activities and assist VAT and Intrastat compliance.
• Liaise with external advisors, auditors and offshore teams as needed.
