As a Mid-Senior Lighting Artist, you will play a cross-functional role that directly affects player immersion and game performance. Your core responsibilities will include:

Visual Mood & Atmosphere Execution

• Aesthetic Curation: Develop artistically compelling, high-quality lighting setups and distinct visual moods across a diverse array of biomes, times of day, and cinematic scenarios.
• Skybox Engineering: Generate hyper-realistic, high-quality skybox textures using advanced 3D creation toolsets or specialized sky-generation software.
• Artistic Fundamental Application: Infuse every scene with strong foundational art principles, leveraging composition, contrast, values, and color theory to guide the player’s eye.
• Gameplay Synergy: Partner tightly with Level Designers to ensure that lighting setups enhance visual clarity, frame objectives, and protect the core player experience.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Maintain constant, clear communication with art directors, tech artists, and engineering leads to ensure that both the overarching artistic vision and strict technical goals are seamlessly met.

Performance & Optimization

• Budget Management: Proactively optimize complex lighting pipelines, lightmaps, shadow casting properties, and dynamic setups to fit cleanly within targeted technical constraints.
• Visual Preservation: Champion optimization workflows without sacrificing the aspirational, high-fidelity visual bar expected of a Gameloft title.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

Professional Experience

• Industry Footprint: 3+ years of professional, hands‑on industry experience generating high-quality final lighting pipelines within either video games or commercial film production.
• Technical Literacy: An excellent, deep-rooted understanding of how real-time lighting engines, pre-rendered solutions, global illumination, and modern baking pipelines function.

Artistry & Technical Core

• Visual Art Fundamentals: A thorough, practical command of composition, contrast management, lighting direction, atmospheric scattering, and color theory.
• 3D Foundations: Competency in foundational 3D modeling and texturing pipelines to smoothly manipulate scenes, assets, and UV spaces when troubleshooting light behaviors.
• Workflow Hygiene: Highly organized, possessing an efficient, consistent, and well‑documented asset delivery methodology.
• Soft Skills: Strong verbal communication skills paired with a cooperative, team‑oriented mindset.
• Specialized Lighting: Direct experience setting up custom character‑specific or high‑end vehicle‑specific lighting rigs is a major plus.
• Scripting Capabilities: Experience writing custom lighting tool scripts or pipeline automation (e.g., Python, tool macros) is highly advantageous.
