Job summary

SGENIA INDUSTRIAL is seeking a Particle Detector Technologist in Madrid to research, develop and implement neutron and particle detectors for industrial and fusion applications. The role involves prototype design, integration with measurement systems, deployment, commissioning, and calibration of detector equipment.

The candidate will work closely with electronics, software and engineering teams and contribute to nuclear fusion programmes and ITER-related technology development.

Qualifications

• PhD required in a related discipline.
• Specialist knowledge in particle detectors, nuclear instrumentation or radiation detection technologies.
• Experience with detectors for muons, neutrons or other particles and calibration.

Responsibilities

• Research, select and develop detector technologies for various applications.
• Design and validate prototypes with sensors, readout electronics and DAQ systems.
• Characterise detector performance and develop calibration procedures with measurement uncertainties.
• Contribute to ITER-related technology development and fusion instrumentation.
• Deploy, commission and troubleshoot detector equipment on projects.
