Viaplay Group is recruiting a Fullstack Developer for our Barcelona tech hub. You will contribute to building microservices and delivering high-quality user experiences across Viaplay’s platforms.

You’ll work with Node.js, TypeScript, Python, and AWS, collaborating in an agile, cross-functional environment that values innovation and rapid iteration.

Formación

• Strong backend experience with Node.js, TypeScript and Python.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (Lambdas, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS).
• Experience contributing to refactoring or modernisation efforts.
• Experience working across team boundaries and in cross-functional teams.

Responsabilidades

• Build solid, high-performing microservices in Node.js and modern front-end frameworks.
• Work with microservice/serverless architecture and multiple programming paradigms.
• Utilise AWS services like Lambdas, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS in a production environment.
• Promote pair/mob programming and agile development processes.
• Improve product iterations using consumer feedback and data.

The Role

As a Fullstack Developer, you will join Viaplay with the mission of bringing the best user experience to our customers. You will join a team that works with commerce-services; attract new users and convert them to become subscribers of Viaplay. You will deliver engineering solutions aligned with technical and product long-term visions. The team delivers on clear goals based on our customer journey and commercial targets and is fully self-reliant in creating the best solutions to reach their goals. Some of your daily tasks will include:

• Building solid and high-performing microservices in Node.js and modern front-end frameworks

• Microservice/Serverless architecture

• Using multiple programming paradigms and languages

• Flexible production environment supported by GitHub Actions and AWS services such as Lambdas, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, etc.

• An agile development process where we promote pair/mob programming

• Improving our product iterations based on consumer feedback and behaviour data

What You’ll Do

• Take ownership of problem → solution → production → iteration

• Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance speed, quality, and business impact

• Collaborate closely with multiple teams - this is a highly cross-team role

• Contribute to evolving our platform from legacy to modern, modular solutions

• Leverage AI tools where they add value, from accelerating development to improving quality and learning faster

What we’re looking for

• Strong backend experience (Node.js, TypeScript and Python)

• Experience working with AWS cloud platform (specially Lambdas, DynamoDB, SQS and SNS)

• Experience contributing to refactoring or modernisation efforts

• Experience working across team boundaries

It’s a bonus if you have:

• Experience from a platform or enablement team

• Experience in high-traffic/transactional systems

• Experience working in ambiguous or fast-changing environments
