Job summary

Ookla seeks a talented Software Engineer to join a team building next-generation platforms that visualize and analyze data to drive real-world action. You’ll work across full-stack web development using React, Redux Toolkit, and Vite on data visualization portals.

You’ll contribute to RESTful APIs with Node.js, participate in Agile processes, and leverage modern tooling like Vitest and MUI. Strong communication and collaboration are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional full-stack web development experience.
• Proficient in React, Redux (preferably Toolkit), and Vite with hands-on experience building complex web apps.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs using Node.js or similar backend tech.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and agile workflows.
• Proficient in automated testing; Vitest & RTL preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; works well independently or in a team.
• Comfort with fast-paced environments and solving complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust, scalable web applications using React, Redux Toolkit, and Vite.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features for data visualization platforms.
• Write clean, maintainable code and adhere to software development best practices.
• Conduct code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure code quality.
• Help develop and test RESTful APIs for data processing and handling.
• Participate in agile development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues with timely solutions.
• Attention to detail to improve user experience.
• Utilize AI tooling to speed up development with human oversight.
• Stay up-to-date with frontend trends and apply them to the stack.
