The Challenge 🧩

At Wallapop, we’re looking for an experienced Front-end Engineer with strong expertise inReact to join our team and contribute to the evolution of our web applications. This role is critical in shaping how we deliver valuable content to millions of users. You will be involved in building both customer-facing web apps and internal tools, primarily utilizingReact (Next.js). While proficiency in React is essential, we also value knowledge of Angular. As part of this role, you’ll have ownership of the development lifecycle — from design to deployment — while collaborating closely with design, product, and back-end teams to implement solutions that elevate the user experience.

What You Will Do 👇

1. Build and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications that deliver seamless and intuitive user experiences for millions of users.
2. Transform designs and wireframes into clean, efficient, and reusable UI components that are responsive and accessible (a11y) across devices.
3. Write maintainable and testable code, adhering to best practices and incorporating unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
4. Engage in collaborative code reviews, providing constructive feedback to foster a culture of high-quality, reliable engineering.
5. Optimize our web applications for performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability, keeping the user experience a top priority.
6. Work with cross-functional teams (product, design, back-end) to define technical requirements, estimate effort, and deliver high-quality solutions on time.
7. Contribute to the technical evolution of the web platform across the company.

What We’re Looking For 🔎

• Proficiency in theReact ecosystem, specificallyNext.js.
• Demonstrated understanding of UI/UX best practices and how to build user-friendly, intuitive applications.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library) and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in an agile environment, working closely with cross-functional partners.
• Strong communication skills and a growth mindset, with an openness to learning and knowledge sharing.

Do note that all our jobs are 📍 Barcelona based. We follow a hybrid model where flexibility rules. We commit to a minimum of 6 days per month in the office. Each team self-organizes to decide on cadence and in-person/remote rituals.

What does the hiring process for this position look like? 👀

Please, note that all interviews take place remotely over hangouts.

• Technical Task - you will be assigned a test that consists of a coding challenge to assess the technical skills required for the role. You will have up to 7 days to complete it
• Expertise Interview - run by the core team, focusing on the hard skills and the ability to deliver in a given context. This usually takes 60-90 minutes.
• Stakeholder Interview - run by the hiring team and relevant stakeholders, focus on the ability to collaborate & deliver in a cross-functional set-up. This usually takes 60 minutes.
• Culture-Add Interview - run by culture interviewers, focus on adherence to Wallapop's purpose and business proposition. This usually takes 60 minutes.
• Offer - should you be the right candidate, your offer will be discussed over a call with talent acquisition and will then be confirmed in writing.
