The ideal candidate is a native French speaker based in Barcelona, with strong copywriting, social listening and video editing skills (CapCut Pro), and available for occasional events and weekend support.

JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a French Social Media & Content Creator to join Lateral Thinking on a part-time freelance basis. In this role, you will manage social media activity and create culturally relevant content for the French market, combining Community Management, content creation, social listening and performance analysis.

The ideal candidate is a native-level French speaker based in Barcelona, with a strong understanding of French culture, digital conversations and social media trends. We are looking for someone proactive, creative and detail-oriented, who can work autonomously while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage comments and conversations across social media platforms, coordinating with the relevant teams when necessary.
• Identify relevant trends, conversations and opportunities for proactive brand participation, particularly on TikTok and Instagram.
• Create culturally relevant social media content tailored to the French market.
• Ideate and conceptualize content aligned with the brand’s social media strategy and the French cultural context.
• Write, adapt and review social media copy in French.
• Review and validate content to ensure linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance and consistency.
• Plan, record and edit native social media content for campaigns, events and special activations.
• Create and edit short‑form video content using CapCut Pro.
• Support live content creation and social media coverage during events and brand activations.
• Monitor social conversations, news and emerging trends in the French market.
• Carry out social listening and translate findings into relevant cultural and communication insights.
• Prepare monthly performance reports and wrap‑ups, identifying key learnings and opportunities.
• Coordinate with Social Media, Community Management, Influencer Marketing and other internal teams.
• Communicate with French brands, media and external collaborators when required.
• Support influencer collaborations, proposals and brief reviews.
• Provide occasional Community Management support during weekends.
• Review files and content before delivery to ensure quality and avoid errors.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• At least three years of experience in a similar Social Media, Community Management or Content Creation role.
• Native‑level proficiency in French and a strong understanding of the French cultural and digital landscape.
• Good professional working level of Spanish.
• Currently based in Barcelona.
• Availability to attend an in‑person working session once a week within the Barcelona metropolitan area.
• Strong knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube, including publishing processes, formats and platform functionalities.
• Proven experience in Community Management and proactive social engagement.
• Experience creating and editing native content for social media.
• Proficiency in CapCut Pro.
• Strong copywriting, editing and communication skills in French.
• Knowledge of social listening and the ability to identify culturally relevant insights.
• Experience with performance reporting, data analysis and monthly reporting.
• Ability to interpret results and turn data into actionable recommendations.
• Strong awareness of social media trends, emerging formats and platform best practices.
• Ability to collaborate with internal teams, external partners, brands and media.
• Availability to support occasional events, activations and weekend Community Management needs.
