Onhires is seeking a deeply hands-on software architect in Barcelona to own the product’s architecture and production environment. You will work directly with founders, taking ownership from an external architect and growing into broader technical leadership.

You’ll design APIs, data models, and cross‑stack capabilities across backend, frontend, and AI systems, while guiding the build, review, and shipping of production software in a hands-on startup setting.

Formación

• 6–10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience owning production software systems.
• Depth in backend architecture and relational DB design.
• Strong TypeScript experience across backend and frontend.
• Experience designing APIs, services, modules, and clear system boundaries.
• Proficient in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

Responsabilidades

• Take technical ownership of the existing product and production environment.
• Design and evolve backend architecture, APIs, and relational data model.
• Build capabilities across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and AI systems.
• Review code and maintain technical quality, including AI-generated code.
• Define standards for architecture, testing, security, observability, releases, and docs.
• Improve development speed without added complexity or fragility.
• Collaborate with founders and customers to translate needs into decisions.
• Explain alternatives, trade-offs, risks and failure modes clearly.
• Support transition from external to internal engineering team.
• Help hire, mentor, and set technical bar for future engineers.
